Abstract

At present, there is a rethinking of the relation to intracellular pathogens only as to infectious agents. Their
role in the etiopathogenesis of some autoimmune diseases is proved.
The purpose of this work is to establish mechanisms of influence of latent chlamydial infection on the
functional state of the thyroid gland (TG) and testicles in infertile men. The study group consisted of 59 men
aged 23–44 years with complaints about the absence of children in the marriage for more than a year. Rated
andrology status, parameters spermogram, ultrasound data prostate. In semen by polymerase chain reaction
(PCR) studied the presence of chlamydial infection (CI). In the blood were determined basal levels of testosterone (T), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), free thyroxine (fT4), TPO via sets «Alkor Bio» (Russia) and estradiol (E2
) (DRG company sets, USA), and antibodies to chlamydiae using immunofermente system test Vitrogen
Chlamidia — IgG (Poland). The control group consisted of 10 practically healthy men with normozoospermia
and lack of CI.
It was established that the presence of latent CI promotes the formation of a spermoagglutination phenomen
in infertile men even in the absence of clinical and laboratory signs of inflammation of the genital organs. The
presence of CI in infertile men promotes an increase in the mean values of levels of TSH and AT-TPO and a decrease in T4 letters compared to control, which indicates the possibility of forming an autoimmune thyroiditis
in them
