Found that in patients with type 2 diabetes and obesity a decrease of vitamin D in common. Most of these patients (72 %) suffer from severe deficiency of vitamin D. Vitamin D deficiency contributes to decompensation of type 2 diabetes. These data suggest the need for inclusion of vitamin D to a range of therapeutic interventions in these patients.
