Abstract

It was studied 65 patients with type 2 diabetes: 12 patients without cardiovascular disease, 14 —
with subclinical, 18 — with functional, 21 — with functional-organic stage of diabetic cardiovascular
autonomic neuropathy. Type 2 diabetes without a cardiovascular disease is characterized by a
tendency to increase the arterial wall stiffness. The subclinical stage of diabetic autonomic neuropathy
is characterized by increased pulse wave velocity in the aorta (PWVao). The functional stage
characterized by an increase of the index of augmentation in aortic and brachial arteries, PWVao,
ambulatory arterial stiffness index. Functional- organic stage is characterized by pathological changes
of the arterial wall striffnesss. The diabetic cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy is accompanied by
increased of insulin resistance, insulin, HOMA-IR, NT-proBNP. There is a direct correlation between
NT-proBNP, left ventricular mass and PWVao
