Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • 1. The work has not been published before and is not being considered for publication in other editions
    2. The article may be written in Ukrainian and/or English
    3. The volume of the manuscript, including the list of references, tables, illustrations and captions to them, should be
    for the original article - 10 pages (A4 format),
    for review article - 15 pages,
    for practical cases - 5 pages,
    The text is printed in 1.5 intervals on a sheet of A4 format (the upper and lower fields are 2.5 cm, the left and right fields are 2.5 cm, text width alignment). Format mainly doc, docx, rtf. Font Times New Roman, 14 points.
    4. The article is submitted to the editors through the form "SUBMISSION" on this site.
    5. The article meets all the requirements of the section "STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS OF THE MANUSCRIPT".
    6. All supporting documents listed in the "SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION" section are attached.

Author Guidelines

The submission requirements are based on the “Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals” developed by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, taking into account the requirements of the Order № 1220 "On publication of dissertations for the degree of doctor and candidate of sciences" dated September 23, 2019 and requirements for publications included in the "List of scientific professional editions of Ukraine in which the results of dissertations for the degree of doctor of sciences, candidate of sciences and the degree of Doctor of Philosophy may be published ”according to Order № 420 dated April 15, 2021 of the Ministry of Education and Science.

All materials submitted for publication are subject to mandatory independent double-blind peer review and approval by the Academic Council of the SI “V Danilevsky Institute for Endocrine Pathology Problems of the NAMS of Ukraine”

The editors of the journal condemn plagiarism in all its forms, declare it unethical and unacceptable. The editors reserve the right to check the submitted manuscripts for plagiarism using the licensed program StrikePlagiarism.com

Before submitting, authors can check their article for originality using the above service or the online service plagiarism.org (for English texts). You can also use Advego plagiatus.

The article must be honestly edited and verified by the author. Before sending the manuscript, make sure that all the above instructions are followed.

The editors reserve the right to make editorial changes (without changing the essence), as well as the right to reject materials that do not meet the requirements.

The fee is not paid to the authors.

ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTATION. The following are attached to the original article:

  • letter from the management of the institution where the study was conducted;
  • declaration of the presence or absence of conflicts of interest.
  • declaration of compliance with ethical standards in the study.

These documents can be drawn up in any form and attached in the appropriate section field in the form of a manuscript submission. 

DESIGN OF THE MANUSCRIPT 

Mandatory structural elements of the article: Title of the article; complete information about the authors; Abstract; Keywords; the text of the article (including tables, figures); Additional Information; References

TITLE OF THE ARTICLE

The title of the article (in capital letters), which fully reflects the subject and topic of the article, contains up to 100 characters.

FULL INFORMATION ABOUT THE AUTHORS

For each the author of the article the author's form must be filled in completely, the tabs must be filled in:

  • Name, Surname, Surname and initials.When translating the authors' surnames into English, it is recommended to transliterate in the same way as in previous publications.
  • ORCID required (preferably but not required for physicians who submit articles in the “CLINICAL EXPERIENCE” and “PRACTICAL CASES” sections).
  • The name of the institution.If the author has several jobs, each is indicated
  • For the responsible author, be sure to mark "contact person for editorial correspondence" and contact phone in the user profile tab "contacts"

ABSTRACT

The author's abstract to the article is the main source of information in domestic and foreign information systems and databases indexing the journal.

The abstract should state only the essential facts of the work, a comprehensive description of the content of the article. T

The abstract should not contain general words, exaggerate or include material that is missing in the text of the article.

Should not contain abbreviations, except for common (eg DNA), footnotes and references.

It is made out in two languages (Ukrainian, English).

The volume of the abstract should be about 250 words or from 1800 to 2500 characters.

The abstract of the original article should be structured and include in the Ukrainian version 5 mandatory headings ("Relevance", "Purpose of the study", "Materials and methods", "Results", "Conclusions"); in the English version – 4 headings: Background (includes relevance and purpose of the study), Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusions.

The volume of the section "Results" should be not less than 50% of the total volume of the abstract.

Abstracts of reviews, lectures, discussion articles are compiled in any form, the volume should be 1800 - 2500 characters.

The abstract of review articles should contain information on methods of searching the literature on databases Scopus, Web of Science, MedLine, The Cochrane Library, EMBASE, Global Health, etc.

KEYWORDS

It is necessary to specify 3 - 6 words or phrases that correspond to the content of the work and contribute to the indexing of the article in search engines. The keyword "review" should be included in the keywords of review articles. Keywords must be identical in Ukrainian and English.

ARTICLE TEXT

The structure of the full text of the manuscript, devoted to the description of the results of original research, should correspond to the generally accepted template and contain mandatory sections: introduction, purpose, materials and methods, results, discussions, conclusions.

The introduction highlights the state of the issue under consideration at the global level. A brief overview of the relevant data is provided; critical evaluation of literature data relevant to this problem; substantiation of novelty and significance of the research; unresolved issues are identified and clearly defined goals and objectives are set, which explain further research.

The introduction should contain at least 10 references to publications on the topic over the past 5 - 10 years.

The section "Materials and Methods". Quantitative and qualitative characteristics of patients or other subjects of research, criteria of their inclusion and exclusion, the description of a research methods, the detailed description of a new drug, a method, modification, experiment, surgical intervention in a certain sequence are resulted. A brief description of the protocol (Standard Operating Protocol, SOP) is given.

The section should be presented so that, based on the above description of methods and reagents, the conditions for conducting experiments could be reproduced experiments.

Researches, the results of which are given in articles, must comply with ethical standards.

Referring to the used statistical methods, it is necessary to give arguments about the adequacy of them in this study. It is necessary to indicate in which indicators the results in the text are presented. 

Results and their discussion. The Results should be clear and concise. In this section, the direct replication of the data in the tables should be avoided.

Discussion of the results should be limited to consideration of only the most important established facts, taking into account preliminary data on the issue being studied. In other words, much of the discussion should be devoted to the interpretation of the results.

It contains references to literature data on the problem of development (5 - 10 articles in Scopus/Web of Science database journals over the past 5 years); new and important aspects of research results are highlighted and compared with already known data of other researchers.

It is not necessary to repeat the information already given in the section "Introduction" and detailed data from the subsection "Results".

The discussion can include justified recommendations for the implementation of the results or the need for further research on this topic.

Conclusions. The conclusions give short formulation of the results of work, which correspond to the purpose of the study and the task, in the form of a concise set of points. In this section, prospects for future research can also be presented.

Writing a review, lecture, discussion paper, observation from practice, methodical reports can be arbitrary, but meet international recommendations and standards.

Detailed information on compiling the survey can be found in the PRISMA manual (http://prisma-statement.org, Key Documents section).

Clinical observations made in accordance with CARE recommendations (http://care-statement.org) have priority.

Tables and figures are a self-contained element of the article and allow you to briefly and accurately present important information, thereby reducing the volume of the main text of the manuscript.

They should complement, not duplicate text.
Reproduction of the same material in the form of tables and figures is not allowed.
Tables should have a number and a name without abbreviations.
Tables are located only in the book orientation of the fields.
Color bitmaps must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi, a black and white (grayscale) of 600 dpi.
Vector images should not contain fonts.
Chemical and mathematical formulas are given in the text.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION is given after the text of the article, before the references.

The authors must indicate within which scientific research the work was performed (state registration number).

The authors must guarantee responsibility for everything published in the article, as well as the presence/absence of conflicts of interest and their own financial interest in performing the work and writing the article.

The authors can express acknowledgements to the people and organizations who contributed to the research, design and publication of the article, but were not its authors.

REFERENCES

The references are numbered in accordance with the mention in the text and are given in square brackets. The design of references should be consistent with the style of NLM (= Citing Medicine) - National Library of Medicine: without dashes, periods after initials; the year of publication is placed strictly after the title of the journal (books, etc.), the inscription et al. allowed, if more than 4 authors are listed in a row, it is preceded by a comma.

Recommendations for writing: Surname and initials of the author (there is no full stop between them). The name of the magazine is in italics (possibility to abbreviate the title without dots), after which the dot is not placed. Year (semicolon); without a space - a number denoting Tom (Vol.); without a space in parentheses - a number denoting №; colon; with a space between the dashes without spaces (period). doi. The book is described as follows: surname and initials of the author (period). Book title (comma), city of publication (italics, comma), year of publication (colon): number of pages.

When compiling bibliographies, it is necessary to check the correctness of bibliographic information of cited sources, namely: the title of the journal (books, etc.), year, number, pages and include in the description the DOI if available.

Russian- and Ukrainian-language publications should be presented in transliterated form. On the website https://translit.net you can use the program of transliteration of the text into Latin, while choosing the Ukrainian or Russian language sources for transliteration.

When describing patents, it is enough to give its number and name (in transliteration).

When describing online edition, after comma is written in italics available at and an address is indicated in italics through a colon.
