Nataliya S. Krasova

Nataliya S. Krasova graduated with honour from the Biological Faculty of Kharkiv State University (Department of Biochemistry) in 1996. In 2004 she defended her thesis for the degree of candidate of biological sciences on the topic «Impact of social-emotional stress of pregnant rats with different insulin availability grade on glucose homeostasis and antioxidant protection system in offspring», in 2007 she was a recipient of the Metchnikov Prize. In 2009 N.S. Krasova was awarded the scientific title of Senior Research Fellow of the Endocrinology.

N.S. Krasova is an author and co-author of 253 scientific works, including 63 articles, 1 methodical recommendation and 15 patent publications. N.S. Krasova is a member of the Ukrainian Biochemical Society, Scientific Medical Society of Pathophysiologists of Ukraine and European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), she takes an active part in the work of scientific congresses, conferences and symposia.

The area of interests: pathogenesis of diabetes mellitus and its complications, definition of the role of oxidative stress and insulin resistance in the development of glucose intolerance in offspring of mothers with pathological course of pregnancy (social and emotional stress in first trimester of pregnancy, gestational diabetes mellitus), functional significance of the candidate gene single nucleotide polymorphisms contribution to the diabetes mellitus, assessment of the pharmacological properties of new potential antidiabetic agents.
