All
recorded comorbidities, their frequency, quantification of comorbidity, were analyzed in consideration of whom
had diabetic nephropathy (DN; group 1, n = 87) and without it (group 2, n = 258). Evaluation of survival was
performed using the Kaplan-Meier method. The endpoint was death from any cause. All cases from 01.01.2012
to 01.01.2019 year were analyzed.
It was revealed that the number of comorbid conditions per person was 4.18 vs 3.67, and was significantly higher in patients with DN, than without it (p = 0.0003). The prevalence of anemia (96.55% vs 85.66%,
р = 0.0061), coronary artery disease (68.97 % vs 47.29 %, р = 0.0005), heart failure (33.33 % vs 13.18 %,
р < 0.0001), polyneuropathy (31.03% vs 12.4%, р = 0.0001), peripheral vascular disease (29.9% vs 16.3%,
р = 0.0058), PD-associated peritonitis (69,6% vs 38,75%, р = 0.009), were significantly higher in patients with
DN, than in patients with nondiabetic renal disease.
During follow up the 114 deaths were detected: among patients from Group 1 — 37 (42.53 %) cases,
Group 2 — 77 (29,84%); χ² = 4.731, р = 0.030. High values of MIP (≥5 points) were significantly associated with
a negative effect on prognosis in the dialysis population, more substantially this effect is expressed in patients
with CKD stage VD and DN (Log-Rank Test, p = 0,00002): the 5-years cumulative proportion surviving was
22% vs 48% in patients from Group 1 and from Group 2, respectively. Similarly, the 5-years cumulative proportion surviving was 22% vs 76% in patients with DN in case of high and average (2–4 points) MIP, respectively
ER -
