It was studied the gender<br>composition of the group, the age of manifestation and features of the course of diabetes. This group<br>accounted for 11.36 %, significant gender differences in its composition have not been identified (men —<br>43.5 %, women — 56.5 %). In most of patients (60.0 % men and 74.0 % women) the type 2 diabetes<br>was diagnosed in V–VI decades of life, but in the IV decade of the life it manifests more frequently in<br>men. A year after the detection of diabetes in insulin needed 5.1 % of patients, and a five year duration<br>of the disease — 15.2 %. By this time, in 82.6 % of patients was formed the diabetic polyneuropathy,<br>at 44.2 % was formed the retinopathy, at 57.7 % — the angiopathy of lower extremities (significantly<br>more often in women).</p>}, number={3}, journal={Problems of Endocrine Pathology}, author={Parzhaladze, V.
