There is an increasing number of evidence that cardiac autonomic neuropathy is a prognostically important factor and marker for increasing mortality from cardiovascular disease. In turn, the remodeling of the myocardium leads to more frequent cardiovascular complications in patients with type 2 diabetes. The purpose of this work is to investigate the relationship between echocardiographic characteristics of the myocardium and signs of cardiac autonomic neuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes. 19 patients with type 2 diabetes and arterial hypertension were examined. Structural characteristics of the myocardium were evaluated using echocardiography; cardiac autonomic neuropathy was diagnosed using standard Ewing tests. The obtained results demonstrate the existence of a relationship between the signs of cardiac autonomic neuropathy and echocardiographic characteristics of the myocardium in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.</p>}, number={1}, journal={Problems of Endocrine Pathology}, author={Briukhova, O.
