The method of the research involves the general clinical and ultrasonic testing of the thyroid gland,as well as the study of its T3 and T4 hormones activity since the pa 3 and T4 hormones activity since the pathology of the thyroid gland is the leading pathology among other ecop T4 thology of the thyroid gland is the leading pathology among other ecopathologies in children from ecologically unfavourable areas. The incidence of almost all analyzed complaints in children from the ecologically unfavour able areas has been higher than in children from ecologically favourable areas. Among the most frequent com plaints from both groups were as follows: emotional lability and excitement (64 % – 72 %),especially in children from the EUAs, headaches (up to 58 %), appetite disorders (49 % – 56 %), fatigability (21 % – 45 %), tachycardia (up to 18 %),and hyperhidrosis (up to 9 %), i.e.complaints common for goitre and unspecific general intoxication. The level of T3 and T4 thyroid hormones revealed that subclinical hypothyroidism is common in areas af 3 and T4 thyroid hormones revealed that subclinical hypothyroidism is common in areas affected by radiation T4 fected by radiation pollution and endemic goitre, whereas subclinical hyperthyroidism is common in chemically polluted areas. The study results demonstrate the effectiveness of the therapy by means of membrane protectors, entero sorbents and iodine preparations, which brought back the indexes of clinical and functional state of the thyroid gland to almost normal in the studied children.</p>}, number={3}, journal={Problems of Endocrine Pathology}, author={Kech, N.
