Abstract

The study examined 105 patients with arterial hypertension (AH). The study group included 75 patients with a combination of arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2 (mean age 60,03 ± 1,17). The comparison group consisted of 30 hypertensive patients without DM type 2 (mean age 57,1 ± 2,23). There were identified changes of 24-hours monitoring of blood pressure (BP) indicators and the apelin-12 level in patients with AH, depending on the presence or absence of concomitant DM type 2. Hyperapelinemia has a hypotensive effect in patients with arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus type 2. Decompensation of diabetes mellitus type 2 with increased glycosylated hemoglobin and glycaemia, is more significant than apelinemia, which results is an increase of blood pressure level due to systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) in patients with arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus type 2. More highly increasing SBP in patients with arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus type 2 is associated with an increasing of glycosylated hemoglobin, and less increasing in DBP present due to partly leveling of negative impact of diabetes by apelinemia.
